GRUNT 5.56
The Grunt® is a high-performance silencer crafted for security personnel seeking superior sound and flash reduction. Engineered with a patented one-piece core, the Grunt is machined from solid billet bar stock. Being devoid of internal welds, ensures performance and longevity with heavy use. It boasts a full auto rating and convenient wrench flats for pinning and welding. Available in Black, OD Green, FDE, Burnt Bronze, or Brushed Stainless finishes to match your style. Offered with our optional Exoskeleton Shroud, which functions as a heat sink, aiding in the dissipation of excess heat from the silencer blast chamber. This extends the silencer’s longevity by maintaining performance under prolonged use or extreme conditions. For those who prioritize compactness, the Grunt is available in a 5″ mini model. The GRUNT-M (mini) has all the features of the Grunt but in the most compact 5.56 size.

Gas blowback is a common issue that is the effect of excess gas in the operating system of a direct impingement AR15. Blowback can lead to gas in your face, increased parts wear, fouling, and reliability issues. Silencers can impact the intensity of this effect, depending on the design. In general, the quieter the suppressor and the less flash, the more blowback. The Warfighter Adjustable Receiver was designed to eliminate these issues. When used in conjunction with our 5.56 silencers or other high-quality silencers on a direct impingement 5.56 AR15, the W.A.R. greatly reduces the gas blowback, fouling, parts wear, and reliability issues.

Write Your Review Eye dominance article https://mdttac.com/blog/eye-dominance-and-handedness-maximizing-speed-and-efficiency-inside-mdt/ Grunt with exoskeleton shroud This is a TOUGH suppressor. This can has seen heavy duty use and still performs like new. Highly recommend it. The Grunt 556 looks great and performs well. Love my grunt haven’t had any problems. It’s a tough robust suppressor, and reasonably light weight given the material. Purchased it 5 years ago without a shroud, but then decided to have the shroud added last year. They were easy to work with, it took about two weeks until I received it back. I recommend IA to anyone wanting a top of the line suppressor at a good price. I own over a dozen suppressors from multiple manufacturers. I liked what I had heard about this company and their products, and I wanted to see what this company was producing. I purchased the Grunt with exoskeleton and their W.A.R. upper. I’ve had the Grunt for several months now, and here’s my take on this suppressor and my experience with the company. We sell these exclusively. We have most if not all in stock and ready to transfer. AND you can “Try” b4 you buy as well. Full auto rated suppressors at less cost and Better quality than the competitors. Give us a shout. 330-714-3414 https://www.facebook.com/lousgunshop/
My dealer did not have this model in stock and they had to order it. They placed the order at noon and by 3pm IA had submitted the form 3 and emailed them a copy of the form. It took 29 days until my dealer received the suppressor. 26 days of that was just waiting on the ATF to approve the form 3. So apparently, IA shipped the suppressor to my dealer the same day it was approved.
A rating on packaging and information.
It was packaged securely, in a sturdy, classy looking box. It had well written information enclosed along with a decal of their logo.
A rating on fit and finish.
Where they weld the core and exo to the tube looks good with nice clean welds, the engraving is crisp, and the finish is flawless and durable, as expected. It is not cumbersome at all, feels great on the rifle. The fit and finish is great and it looks down right sexy on my 10.5” SBR. I did not give the Grunt an A+ because I think that there may be better coatings out there. IA’s coating is holding up just fine but I think something like cerakote may last longer. I do not have any data on that so I’ll have to wait and see how long the finish lasts.
A rating on durability (so far).
As I said earlier, I’ve only had it for a few months, since February. It has had roughly 3,000 rounds through it. The finish is like new and the core has zero build up, from what I can tell. It looks like new except the core does not have the shine from being new steel. In my opinion the Grunt is very durable, with a tank tough design.
A+ rating on POI
Out the box, the POI between suppressor on/ suppressor off is about ½”. It’s consistent and repeatable. No variations, and it’s dead nuts.
A rating on sound reduction (I do not have db equipment)
It sounds just as quiet as my SiCo can and more quiet than my AAC on both my carbine and SBR. The Grunt has a deep tone, and it doesn’t ring my ears. If I’m shooting suppressed more than a few rounds on the SBR I wear ear pro as a precaution against hearing loss. When low light shooting the muzzle flash is maybe 1” on the first round. Then by the next round it is totally gone. I can’t give the Grunt an A+ rating because I do not have db equipment to compare numbers, but going by comparison shooting with my other cans, the Grunt is on par with major manufacturers and in some instances, sounds better because of the tone.
A+ customer service.
I contacted IA through email on their website twice. The first time I asked about the WAR receiver. The next day I got an email from Jenny with detailed information, and a link to a dealer that had the WAR in stock. The second time I asked about the Slingshot suppressor and warranty information. Jenny emailed me back in a few hours with detailed information, and to my surprise I also received a voicemail from Phillip with information on the 50/50 mix for cleaning the slingshot. Outstanding.
